FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
To raise awareness of HIV in FIU students, we took advantage of a cultural event that was happening on campus, the Miss Universe Contest, and created a story that would impact them and draw their attention to a serious subject like STDs. We brought to life a fake Miss Universe contestant who represented a fake country of more than 35 million people. She represented and was the voice of everyone living with HIV.
HIV tests among students increased by 352%.
